Dental Dams
& Diaphrams
Condoms full of holes
I'd rather take my
               chances
w/ the Holy Ghost

we come together
as a family
Eating out -- of mommy
Daddy come now
Mommy on my face
Ooo God something came out
And hit me in the face

Ain't coming down till I get
                 off
Laying on our backs
         counting thrusts

Author's Comments

I wrote this at Starbucks one evening. I heard something in the music playing that kinda started a really interesting train of thought. Here it is... At some point I hope to submit the original copy as a scan as it is a bit visual as well but it works alright as text. Very rough in style and thought.

**NOTE** This has incestuous overtones. Not based on fact just a very random output of my mind that night. It's a skill of writers to be able to write about things that are distant from their reality and make some sense of it. What started the idea was that in the song that was playing I thought I was hearing a duet about "golden showers." It wasn't but you never know what you'll think you will hear! haha

ummm...is it bad to say that i really like this? because i do.

the first stanza is amazing. i lovelovelove it. it's very strong, very visual, very cynical, very funny. i laughed out loud when i read it.

i like the second stanza too. the first three lines are really great. mocking. icky. then it gets rather overt, which isn't a bad thing, but the last two lines of this stanza might be a little bit repetitive. that's my only real critique.

the last stanza wraps it up well. it gives such a visual, and a strong emotion... the overall tone, length, and form really make it easy to read (despite the content). you didn't overdo it at all, as could easily be done with the subject matter.

it's a great piece. i loves it.
